 He assumed charge of PCCF (HoFF) M.S.from Shri Alok Kumar Joshi on dated 30th Sept. 2013.
 Prior to this, he was posted as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife)and Chief Wildlife Warden of the State with effect from 1stApril, 2012.  

 During his service period he has worked with almost all the wings of the Forest Department including Territorial, Social Forestry, Wildlife as well as Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited.As IFS (Probationer) he was attached to the then West Chanda  Division from July, 1979.  During this attachment, he worked as ACF-in-Charge of Kolsa Range for 5 months.  Thereafter, he worked as ACF in Bhamragad Division for one year and eight months. He worked as Dy. Conservator of Forests of Sironcha, East Melghat and Dahanu Forest Divisions.  As circle incharge, he was posted as Conservator, Amravati Circle and Chief Conservator of Nagpur Circle.  In Social Forestry Directorate, he completed a full tenure as Joint Director, Aurangabad and again worked as Director. Social Forestry, Pune from August, 2010 to April, 2011.  In Wildlife wing, before the present posting, he worked as Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Nagpur from September, 2003 to December, 2005.  From June, 1999 to September, 2003, he was posted as Regional Manager, Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited North Chandrapur Region. In Principal Chief Conservator of Forests’ Office, he did two terms, both in HRM. First as CCF(HRM) and after a break as Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (HRM).  His last six postings have been as under.

            Born on 20th, June, 1954, he is M.Sc. (Physics)-1974 from Allahabad University. He had a meritorious academic career.  Taught Physics to Under Graduate classes for a year and then appeared and got selected in first attempt for services such as I.F.S., I.P.S. and I.R.S. on the basis of UPSC examinations held in 1976.  Chose Indian Forest Service amongst these services to make a career.  Allahabad is his home town but he has now settled down happily at Nagpur. 

               

 

Shri Sarjan Bhagat an Indian Forest Service Officer of Maharashtra Cadre, 1979 batch, took over the charge of Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) and Chief Wildlife Warden of the State on 7th October, 2013.  During his service period he has worked with almost all the wings of the Forest Department including Territorial, Social Forestry as well as Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited.

 As IFS (Probationer) he was attached to the East Melghat Division, Amravati  from July, 1981 to February, 1982.  Then he was posted as Logging Officer in ACF rank from March, 1982 to October, 1983. Thereafter, he worked as Divisional Manager, Forest Project Division, Sironcha and Jimalgatta in  Forest Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited during November, 1983 to Mid April, 1985. He worked as Dy. Conservator of Forests at Conifers Research Centre, Shimla under Forest Research Institute, Dehra Dun on Central Deputation for the period of 5 years with effect from 25/4/1985 to 31/5/1990. After completion of central deputation joined as Dy. Conservator of Forests, Pusad Forest Division at Pusad from 13/8/1990 to 22/3/1994.  On promotion as Conservator of Forests he was posted in Social Forestry Directorate and he completed a full tenure as Joint Director, Village Eco-Development Programme, under World Bank aided Maharashtra Forestry Project. Then he worked as Regional Manager (Nursery Development Unit) in the Office of Managing Director, FDCM Limited at Nagpur, for about 6 years from June end 1997 to June, 2003. He also worked as Joint Director, Social Forestry Circle, Nagpur for about a year from July, 2003 to July, 2004. In Principal Chief Conservator of Forests’ Office, he was posted as CCF(HRM) on promotion. Then he was posted as General Manager in the office of Managing Director, FDCM Ltd. Nagpur for about one year and nine months.  For a short period of about a year from August, 2010 to Mid July, 2011 he worked as Chief Conservator of Forests (Territorial) Amravati.  On promotion to the post of APCCF he was posted in head office as Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Resource Utilization). For a period of about one year and six months from April, 2012 to September, 2013, he worked as Addl. Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Administration-Subordinate Cadre).  His last five postings have been as under.

           Born on 10th April,  1957, he is B.Sc. and Masters in Economics  both from Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla.  Chose Indian Forest Service amongst the All India services to make a career.  Village Sapni in Kinnaur District of Himachal Pradesh is his home town.
